Welcome and thank you for your interest in my practice.  I specialize in  helping teens and adults who are suffering from all types of eating disorders and disordered eating patterns such as

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge and other forms of emotional eating
  • General body image and self esteem issues

As well as the following issues which often accompany an eating disorder:

  • OCD and other forms of anxiety
  • Self harming behaviors (such as cutting)
  • Compulsive shopping
  • Depression

Eating disorders involve extreme disturbances in eating behaviors such as following rigid diets, throwing up after meals, gorging on meals, obsessively counting calories or even excessively exercising. But eating disorders are more complicated than controlling these extreme behaviors.  At their core, eating disorders involve distorted, self critical attitudes about weight, food and body image.  These negative thoughts and feelings fuel the dangerous behavior. Over time, someone with an eating disorder loses the ability to see themselves objectively and their obsession with food and weight dominates their lives, becoming the primary way they cope with life.

I have both personal and professional experience that guides me in providing compassionate, effective treatment. In addition to helping you return to a healthier relationship with food and your body, I want to help you understand  the reasons underneath your eating disorder and deal with them.  This is how you can achieve true long-term recovery. In short, if you are suffering from an eating disorder, I want to help you get your life back.  Call me if you would like to schedule a consultation.  425-233-2439.

Concern about weight is common as is the occasional binge, however extreme behaviors with food could be an indication of a developing problem.  The best outcomes occur when disordered eating patterns are identified early and treatment begins before it progresses to a full eating disorder.

If you suspect that you or someone you know might be struggling with an eating disorder, even at an early stage, please get help now rather than waiting until the situation becomes more serious.
